A Message from WHCF President, Tom Obey
Dear Listeners and Supporters:
I hope all our listeners have plans for the summer. Many plan to attend camps. Back in May, we featured Christian camps. There are Christian day camps as well as many weekly Christian camps all over our State. With much to do and not much time to do it in, we hope and pray that you will travel with WHCF FM 88.5. We are so blessed to cover all of central & northern Maine & the Canadian Maritimes. Don’t forget to download our App on your smart phone. Sometimes it is music in the background, while other times God uses one of our speakers to reveal His Word for the day just when we need it.
Please pray for Penny. Most of you probably heard on the radio, she has recently been through cancer surgery, and she now is feeling a bit under the weather. I know it is not the job (ha -ha), because she loves being here and ministering to you every morning. While she is receiving prayers from all of you on her daily prayer program at 8:45, please keep her and the rest of our staff in your prayers. I don’t like giving credit to the devil, but he is a vicious enemy of God and of those who serve Him. We have not been off the air, but staff-wise, it has been a rough few months. With Josh leaving and Penny sick, others have been working overtime. Thankfully, Nelson Jewell has helped us on-air and been a true blessing. Equipment wise, we have had a great winter.
It is coming again! Thursday, June 20th at 10:00AM - you are invited to a free movie. We were privileged last month to co-sponsor the new movie The Favorite. You can see the trailer at www.thefavoritemovie.com. The Favorite will be released in Bangor in September. This free screening allows you and I an opportunity to see how this movie can reach many in our communities. Come represent your church and represent your town, so you will be ready when the film airs this fall. You will want to invite non-Christians as well as those who have struggles with their past to see a true story and witness how God worked in and through circumstances to reveal Himself.
Our mission is “to reach the lost, to edify the saints, and to keep people informed.” Please pray with us as we explore more ways to reach others with His wonderful message of love, hope, and the gift of eternity.
Love you all,
