A Message from WHCF President, Tom Obey
Dear Listeners and Supporters:
Sometimes it seems the months go by very quickly. It is February already and it won’t be long and spring will be here. But, for now, let’s let the snowmobilers and skiers have a little fun.
I wanted to share a few changes in the lineup. Walk in the Word with James McDonald is no longer available, but we have found a good replacement. Colin Smith with Unlocking the Bible began on Feb 1st and we’ve already heard some positive comments. Give it a listen if you have a chance. It airs at 10:00 AM, Monday through Friday. Plus there’s a new Penny on board. She will be on 8:00 to 11:00 PM every night Monday through Friday. Now, you’ll wake up to Penny in the morning, and you can settle in for the night with Penny (#2), ha-ha. We have added Donna Cruz to the overnights. So if you can’t sleep at night, listen to Donna for encouraging music and hope-filled conversation.
Speaking of Penny, thank you all for your prayers. Penny’s surgery went well, and she’ll be recovering for the next couple of weeks. I know she was so blessed by all your comments and your prayers. Bruce is a ‘great’ caregiver, and we trust she will be back with us in two weeks. Please keep her in your prayers.
Also, I just wanted to remind you of the Casting Crown concert coming to the Cross Center in Bangor. It is on Sunday, February 24th at 7:00 PM. We hope to see many of you there. Please come by the table and introduce yourself. Radio allows us to know each other, but it’s always nice to put a face with the name.
So many of you have supported us so faithfully over the years. Last year was our best year yet. Over half of our regular giving is now given automatically online. This allows us to be faithful to our vendors. Please know how thankful we are for your donations and how grateful to God we are that this station is still important to so many people all over central and northern Maine and the Maritimes.
Feel free to stop by our studios on outer Broadway in Bangor and have a tour and meet the staff. We would love to meet all of our listeners.
