A Message from WHCF President, Tom Obey
Dear Listeners and Supporters:
We, the staff of WHCF, want to wish you a very “Merry Christmas and a Happier New Year” in the wonderful name of Jesus. This is one of the most blessed times of year. Please don’t get so busy that you miss the blessing of this special season.
It appears that Lighthouse Radio will once again finish the year in the black financially. Obviously, we give God the credit, and we thank you for your faithfulness. Our fundraiser last month was a huge success, but it is the fulfillment of those pledges that takes care of the need. In years past, we have seen a 90% fulfillment which means about $45,000 of the money pledged does not come in. However, in the past few years, others have stepped in and sent unpledged gifts during the year, (especially during the month of December) which have kept us in the black. I don’t believe people give to this ministry because it is tax deductible; however, many people send a gift at the end of the year because they can claim it on their taxes. Lighthouse Radio is a 501(c)3 organization, and we will send tax receipts out the first of the year to everyone who gives.
Please accept our sincere thanks to all of you who pray and give to this ministry. Our mission has not changed in the 37 years that God has allowed us to minister to Central and Northern Maine and the Maritimes. We endeavor to “reach the lost, edify the saints, and to keep people informed.”
Please pray as the devil fights us on a regular basis. Following the fundraiser, our Moseley studio/transmitter Link (STL) failed. It will cost us $2,000 to replace. It seems like a never ending battle, but we will win. God has always taken care of the needs. If you can help, please do. It is always appreciated.
Be sure to join us in January as we start 88 Days of Hope!
Merry Christmas from your Friends here at WHCF
