Dear Listeners,
Happy New Years to all of you from us here at WHCF. We made it through another year. Have you made any new year’s resolutions or set new goals for this year yet? I’m not big on resolutions, but I do always try to set some new goals. I was recently challenged to set a new Bible reading goal for this year. We all know how important it is to “daily search the scriptures” as the Bible says. Funny how being busy gets in the way. We all can say we are busy, yet we can fit in our favorite show or our favorite ball game or spend time on our smart phone. So, let’s all be committed to set a goal to read at least a chapter or two from God’s Word every day in 2026.
I shared with you in November’s letter that ‘Lighthouse Radio” could end up with a deficiency in 2025. Well, we did. At the end of November, we were $14,000 behind. I shared that with our listeners and supporters because some of you like to do year end gifts. We made up all but $6,751. Few non-profits can say they have been in the black for the past twelve years. I am so pleased to say that we can! There are numerous reasons for our shortfall. This year we had over $180,000 worth of non-budgeted items that had to be taken care of. Early last year, our Ellsworth tower fell in a windstorm and we had to replace our equipment. In August, we had to replace our backup generator on the mountain. In October, all our computers had to be replaced because Microsoft would no longer support the older models. And, as you know, cost of living went up almost 4%. In December, we had to clear numerous trees near our power lines going up the mountain. So, not to bore you with too many details, WE ARE VERY BLESSED! We also know that we have a dependable God to meet our financial needs. We are still praising God for having had the shortest and best fundraiser that we ever experienced. To God be the Glory, over $503,000 was pledged in just 5 days.
I always like to keep you informed since you faithfully support our team here. When we have a company meeting, we all agree that we have the best family of listeners in the world. We cannot do it without you. The budget now is over $750,000 to broadcast His wonderful message of salvation and encouragement 24 hours a day. We are reaching thousands of listeners in their homes, their vehicles, on their phones whenever they want. It is astonishing how many listeners we have out of state and even in other countries. I continue to encourage you to share our station with your family and friends. Download our app if you haven’t yet. Feel free to call the office at 207-947-2751 if you need assistance of any kind.
God Bless You All,
Tom, Tim, Nelson, Dorian, Jess, Lorrie and Brenda
