88 Days of Hope
What is Hope and where does it come from? Well the bible teaches in Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].
So, in God’s economy hope comes from faith. As for where faith comes from, we know that it comes from trusting God to keep His word. This is why to claim the things we hope for and believe are ours out loud in prayer from God’s words in agreement with His promises is a great and powerful place to start off the New Year. In our 88 Days of Hope we will search God’s word to gain the blessings He wants to give us and the hope we have in Him in our prayers.
Matthew encourages this when he says: Matthew 7:7-8
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. And in Romans 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
Through out these 88 days we will find hope for an unwavering faith in God, hope for our loved ones who don't know the Lord, hope for our finances, hope for a more joyful life, hope for peace and hope for an improved love walk towards ourselves and others. Plus, I have offered a prayer idea to help you get the ball rolling in claiming your promise if you need it. My hope is that you enjoy the coming 88 days together with me and that it blesses us in the process. If you have a question, comment or insight please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] And before we begin I'd like to share one of my favorite scriptures of hope.
Psalm 121 A song of ascents.
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains--
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
Amen to that, and I am thankful Lord that everyday You will be here to help us grow in our understanding, peace and joy. Love and peace, Dorian
