WHCF Celebrates 30 Years of God's Faithfulness

30th Anniversary Celebration
WHCF is celebrating 30 years of ministry in Maine and the Maritimes. On August 10, 1981, WHCF signed on the air at 5:30am as the first full-time Christian radio station in Maine.
This past Saturday, WHCF held their 30th Anniversary Celebration, featuring a sold-out concert with Laura Story. It also featured special personal video messages from Dr. James Dobson, Dr. David Jeremiah, Howard Dayton, and Chris Tomlin.
Laura also led worship, Sunday morning, at Bangor Baptist Church during two of their three services. Nearly 900 people attended those two services.
Leading up to the event, Laura joined the WHCF Morning Show and the Solution FM Morning Show, Thursday morning. She was also featured on the WABI-TV5 News at 5 on Friday evening, performing “Indescribable” and “Blessings” during the newscast.
James Gardner attended the celebration and said “Praise God! Over 700 Christians from every denomination, race, gender, joined together to praise God in a night of worship with Laura Story. Thank you WHCF for putting on the concert and I pray that you will have another 30 years and more in your ministry.”
Sarah Warner attended the event, and said “I loved hearing her stories as well as her music. What a talented musician and loved hearing her stories.”
Laura Story wrote the No. 1 worship hit “Indescribable” recorded in 2004 by Chris Tomlin. Her #1 hit “Mighty to Save” is still, to this day, the most sung song at churches (according to CCLI). Her song “Blessings” is currently the #1 song on the Christian Radio charts, and it’s the #1 downloaded Christian song on iTunes.
